Have you ever noticed that my blog posts follow a similar format? It’s not a coincidence! There’s a specific formula I use that helps me generate at least 37,000 visitors per blog post. In this guide, I’ll break down the steps to writing the perfect blog post, applicable for any type of blog, whether it’s B2B, B2C, personal, or corporate. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Start with a Compelling Title
The first step in writing a blog post is crafting the title. Don’t even start writing until you have a solid title. Did you know that eight out of ten people read the headline, but only two out of ten click through? If your title isn’t captivating, your amazing content will go unread.
For inspiration, visit a grocery store and look at magazine covers. They often have attention-grabbing titles like “Lose Weight in 30 Days” or “How to Shed Five Pounds Fast!” Use similar tactics in your titles. Experiment with two or three variations and ask friends for their opinions to find the best one.
Step 2: Write an Engaging Introduction
Your introduction should hook readers with a bold statement. For example, I started by saying, “Do you want the formula that breaks down how I get at least 37,000 visitors per blog post?” This piques curiosity and encourages readers to continue. Also, provide a quick overview of what will be covered in the post, guiding readers on what to expect.
Step 3: Structure the Body with Subheadings
The body of your post should be easy to skim. Use subheadings to break up the text and keep paragraphs to around five to six lines. This enhances readability and keeps your audience engaged.
Additionally, incorporate links to other reputable sites. Linking out not only provides credibility to your content but also positions you as an expert in your field. It shows that you’re not just self-promoting but are willing to share valuable resources.
Step 4: Conclude Effectively
Your conclusion should summarize the main points of your post. It’s also crucial to end with a question. This encourages readers to engage with your post, increasing the likelihood of comments and interaction. Engagement is key to converting readers into leads or customers.
Research shows that many readers scroll to the bottom of a post to check the conclusion before reading the entire article. So, clearly label it as “Conclusion” and keep it straightforward.
Bonus Tip: Link to Other People
When you link to others, it flatters them and can drive more traffic to your blog. Shoot an email to the person you linked to, letting them know. For instance, you might say, “Hey Curtis, I’m a huge fan of your work, so much so that I linked to you in my latest blog post. You can check it out here.” Many people appreciate this and are likely to share your article on social media, benefiting both of you.
